Day 2 was for me a lot harder than day 1. Partly because it wasn’t the 16 miles that were advertised, but was actually about 18 miles instead. Mostly though with aching legs our pace dropped very low, so that by about 2:30, I was convinced we were never going to make it, and had a bit of a stress. We stopped for a break then, and made the decision to walk faster dammit. From that point onwards our mood improved and we did quite well to get to the river crossing. Problem was that the last two-ish miles that we then had to face were pretty much all up hill, and up hill is not something that I’m great at. (This is a worry, as I understand that today will have a lot of uphill in it.)
But we are perseveringly, and so what if we arrive at our final destination a few hours after everyone else, I’m determined to complete this walk and will not give up.
