Man of Science

London Blue Plaque - Thomas Young, Man of Science On my way back to the tube station following a ‘workshop’ this morning, I went past one of London’s many blue plaques, celebrating the person who lived or worked there at some point in history.

This particular plaque celebrates Thomas Young, and describes him as a “man of science”. How cool is that?

Wouldn’t you love to be remembered as a man of science? And can you think of any people around now, who are sufficiently polymath like to get that honorific now?

P.S. What does it say about me that three times while writing this post I’ve tried to spell ‘science’ as “schience”.
