Alternating

Following a very restrained pay-day trip to the bookshop, I have made a decision. Or possibly a resolution.
Anyway, the decision is: for every non-fiction book I read, I have to read a non-fiction as well.
There are a lot of very good non-fiction books out there, but because they generally involve a little bit more effort when reading them, it’s very easy to put them down in favour of something easy and meaningless. The alternating plan is to encourage me to read through all those books that I always mean to try someday. And to finish off the ones that I’ve already started!

Strangely I only do what you’ve written. I don’t have time for fiction, but then I don’t use public transport – which is where most of the heavy-fiction-readers I know do their reading.

I do a lot of my reading on the commute. Not as much as I did before I moved, but there’s still a good two hours reading time available there!
